About the carrier

Emirates is unusual: an all-widebody operation built around two aircraft types — the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 777 — with virtually every route passing through Dubai. From the UK, that means six daily A380 rotations from Heathrow, plus services from Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Stansted and Glasgow. Onward connections cover most of Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Indian subcontinent through a single hub.

The First Class Private Suite on the A380 — fully enclosed, with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, a video-call window for ordering, and access to the on-board shower spa — remains the most theatrical premium product in the air. The newer Game Changer First Class on the 777 (introduced 2017) is the more private space — six seats only, with virtual windows on middle suites. The Game Changer Business on the same aircraft is excellent; the older 777 Business in 2-3-2 is the weak spot we steer clients away from.

A380 reach

Emirates flies the A380 to more destinations than any other carrier — six daily from London. Hub at Dubai T3 is purpose-built for the type; transfers without leaving the concourse.

On-board bar

The A380 bar at the back of the Business cabin is the original — operating since 2008, copied widely. A genuine social space, not a marketing concept.

Emirates sells what no one else can put on an aircraft: a First Class with a private suite and a shower at 40,000 feet, and an onboard lounge bar — both on the A380, the aircraft the airline has built its entire network around. Against Qatar the trade is First-Class theatre and the A380 ride against Qatar's stronger Business seat; against Etihad it is scale and frequency against a single headline suite. First is first-rank — where it flies A private suite with a shower onboard is a category of one. It’s on the A380 and a handful of “Game Changer” 777s; the rest of the network is a Business-led proposition. Worth planning the trip around.
Unmatched for one-stop reach east Dubai puts the Indian subcontinent, East Africa, Southeast Asia and Australasia a single connection away, through a hub built for the type. As a springboard east, nobody does it better.
Scale means there’s almost always an option Eight UK airports and dozens of daily departures mean Emirates can usually solve a routing nobody else can — the breadth is a real advantage, provided you’re on the right aircraft.

Fourteen fully-enclosed suites with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, mini-bar, vanity desk, and access to the two A380 shower spas. Suites in the centre of the cabin have no window — Emirates compensates with a video display showing the view from a tail-mounted camera. Pre-flight on the lounge's à la carte menu; in-flight on the same.

Introduced 2017 on a small number of 777-300ERs. Six suites only, all with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. Middle suites use virtual windows (live external camera feed) since they have no actual windows. The seat is wider than the A380 First; the bed is the same. No on-board shower (it's a 777, not an A380).

The A380 Business cabin spans the entire upper deck, all 1-2-1 with privacy partitions but no doors. Seats convert to lie-flat at 79 inches. The on-board bar is at the back of the cabin and is a genuine social space throughout the flight. Ground at Dubai uses the dedicated Business concourse.

The newer 777 Business — and the one to ask for specifically. Bi-directional reverse herringbone, large IFE screens, plenty of stowage. Significantly better than the older 777 Business which is still in 2-3-2 (no doors, no aisle access for middle row). The Game Changer refit is rolling across the 777 fleet through 2027.

Which Emirates flights from the UK have the A380?

Heathrow is all-A380, six times a day. Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow also see the superjumbo, though deployment shifts seasonally and some rotations use the 777 or the newer A350. We confirm the aircraft on your exact flight before you book.

Does Emirates fly First Class from the UK?

Yes — on the A380, with private suites, sliding doors and the First Class Shower Spa, and on select 777s with the enclosed Game Changer First suite. Not every rotation carries First, so it depends on the aircraft on your route.

Is Emirates Premium Economy available from the UK?

Increasingly. It is on the retrofitted A380s and 777s and is available from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh, expanding through 2026. We check whether your specific flight has the Premium Economy cabin.

How much is Emirates Business Class from London?

What are the onboard bar and shower?
