Notes from the office

Twenty-two hours in the air. The stopover is part of the trip.

There is no non-stop London to Sydney. Every itinerary involves a stop, and the stop is the thing to plan. We tend toward Singapore (Changi, SQ) or Dubai (Emirates, overnight) depending on the client and the season.

Qantas Business on the 787 is strong; Singapore Airlines (via SIN) is our most-recommended routing overall, combining a strong mid-haul product with the best connection airport in the world.

If timing allows, we recommend an overnight in Singapore or Dubai rather than a same-day connection. A night in a good hotel near the airport costs less than the fatigue of a direct-style marathon.

When to go to Sydney

Australia's seasons are reversed.

UK summer is Australian winter — still perfectly mild in Sydney. The best fare windows are in UK winter (Australian summer) and UK autumn.

Dec–Feb

UK winter · Australian summer

Peak beach and outdoor season in Sydney. Fares from London are at their seasonal high over Christmas; January is noticeably quieter.

Mar–May

Autumn in Australia

One of the best windows — milder weather in Sydney, good premium availability, and fares at their mid-year level.

Jun–Aug

UK summer · Australian winter

Sydney winter is mild (14–18°C). The UK school summer holiday pushes London-departure prices up; Sydney-to-London fares drop.

Sep–Nov

Spring in Australia

One of the strongest fare windows from London — September and October before the Melbourne Cup and Christmas run-up.

Multi-city

Sydney rarely stands alone.

Most of our Sydney clients add Melbourne, the Great Barrier Reef, or New Zealand onto the same booking. Qantas and Virgin Australia handle the domestic legs; we arrange them on the same ticket where possible.

A common itinerary: London–Singapore overnight–Sydney, then Sydney–Melbourne–Sydney–London. All premium, all one booking, all ATOL protected.

For complete luxury packages, our sister brand HighStreet Holidays uses the same office.

Sydney FAQ

Quick answers on Sydney.

What's the best routing London to Sydney?

Singapore Airlines via Changi is our first recommendation — the best cabin on both sectors and the most efficient connection. Emirates via Dubai is the best for clients who want to stop overnight. We recommend the choice based on your specific dates and cabin preference.

Should I do an overnight stop?

For most clients, yes — particularly on the Dubai routing. An overnight at a good hotel near DXB costs relatively little and the difference in arrival condition the next day is significant. We arrange the hotel on the same booking.

Is there a direct flight?

Not commercially available from the UK at time of writing. Every itinerary involves one stop — we choose the stop carefully.

Is it ATOL protected?

Yes. Every booking is ATOL protected under licence 12118.

Letters we keep

In the words of clients who've stayed.

I haven't booked a flight myself in four years. They know which seat I want on the A380, that I prefer to land before midday, and the hotel that runs a quiet floor. I phone, they call back, and it's done.

Our directors travel constantly and finance need everything reconciled. Travelin Business is the only piece of the operation no one complains about. VAT-ready, on time, and quietly cheaper than what we were paying.
