About the carrier

British Airways is the carrier our clients fly most weeks — and the one we've watched evolve most. The transatlantic schedule alone is unmatched from the UK: ten daily rotations to New York between Heathrow and JFK/EWR, plus dedicated capacity to Boston, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco. Most British business is done from Heathrow Terminal 5, and BA owns it — the First Wing offers a private security channel that delivers you directly to the Concorde Room or Galleries First in minutes.

The cabin story is the Club Suite — a fully-enclosed 1-2-1 Business product with sliding doors, now fitted to every A350 and 787-10, and rolling out across the 777-300ER fleet. First Class survives on a meaningful but shrinking network — fourteen seats on the A380, eight on the 787-9 and refitted 777s — and remains the simplest way to combine British service with First-class ground at T5.

The First Wing — exclusive security channel for First, Club World and oneworld Emerald — is the single best premium departure in London. Concorde Room access for First is the closest thing to a private terminal on home soil.

Schedule density

Ten daily rotations to New York. Multiple daily to Boston, Chicago, Washington and Los Angeles. If a meeting moves, there is almost always another BA flight that day in the same cabin.

Club Suite where fitted

The 1-2-1 Club Suite with a door is the best Business product BA has flown. Available on every A350 and 787-10, plus the retrofitted 777-300ERs. Worth asking specifically.

Avios & status portability

Not every aircraft has Club Suite yet The 787-9s, the A380s (retrofit from mid-2026) and the Gatwick 777s still fly the older Club World. The aircraft operating your date decides your Business cabin — we confirm it before you book.
First isn’t on the A350 or 787-8 If First is the brief, it’s specific aircraft on specific routes. We’ll find the routing that actually carries it.

Eight to fourteen suites depending on aircraft, all in a single forward cabin. The newest seat (refit 777-300ER, 787-9) sits in a half-shell with a privacy screen and 23-inch HD monitor; the A380 cabin keeps the wider footprint at fewer seats. Pre-flight dining is available from the lounge.

Collins Aerospace Super Diamond shell with a sliding door and direct aisle access from every seat. The middle-pair seats are configured with a privacy partition that lowers for travel companions. The product is fitted to the entire A350 fleet, the 787-10s, and is rolling out across the 777-300ER fleet through 2026.

The legacy yin-yang Business cabin remains on the 777-200ER and the un-refitted 777-300ERs. Lie-flat but rear-facing for half the seats and centre-aisle access only via stepping over. We avoid it where Club Suite is available, but for some Atlantic schedules it remains the only operating equipment.

BA's premium economy is fitted across the entire long-haul fleet. The 2-3-2 configuration on the A350 and 787 is meaningfully better than the older 2-4-2 on the 747-replacement 777s. Wider seat, more recline, plated dining; the same Heathrow security as economy but a separate boarding group.

Questions we're asked about British Airways.

Which British Airways flights have the new Club Suite?

All A350-1000s, all 787-10s, all 777-300ERs, the great majority of Heathrow 777-200ERs and all 787-8s carry the Club Suite. The 787-9 fleet is mid-retrofit through 2026–27, and the A380s begin from mid-2026, so both can still have the older Club World; the Gatwick 777s are not being retrofitted at all. The giveaway is the seat map — a 1-2-1 layout is the Suite. We check it before you book.

Does British Airways still fly First Class, and on which aircraft?

Yes. First is on the A380, all 777-300ERs (the newest enclosed First Suite with a door is on the 13 Heathrow aircraft), select 777-200ERs, the 787-9 and the 787-10. It is not on the A350-1000 or the 787-8. A redesigned, fully enclosed First Suite arrives on the A380 from mid-2026.

Will I definitely get Club Suite from Heathrow?

Most of the time, but not always. All the A350s, 787-10s, 777-300ERs and 787-8s have it, and about 95% of Heathrow 777-200ERs — but the 787-9 and A380 can still be the older Club World. That uncertainty is exactly why we confirm the aircraft and seat map on your specific departure rather than leaving it to chance.

What about British Airways from Gatwick?

Gatwick long-haul runs on older 777-200s with the old Club World seat — no Club Suite, and generally no First — on leisure routes to the Caribbean and Florida. New aircraft only arrive there from 2029. If the new seat matters to you, we route you via Heathrow where the schedule allows.

What is the Concorde Room?
